Bernie spent almost 20 years working in the Health care sector before fulfilling a dream of working in the area of fashion and lifestyle. Bernie trained as a nurse for people with intellectual disability in the late 80’s and then completed her general nursing in the mid 90’s. She spent the years working in the profession both in Ireland and outside (Saudi Arabia) in various centres and hospitals. She also held the position of manual handling advisor for the HSE north /west for six years. During which time she continued to study and gained a diploma in Reflexology, a diploma in nursing studies, certificate in Manual handling and a degree in Training and Education through NUIG.

In 2006 following a prompt from her family Bernie signed up to complete her diploma with the Style coaching tm institute. From the first week end of the course Bernie was committed to a career in this area. Since then it has been a roller coaster ride of fun, excitement, hard work, opportunities and great acquaintances.

Bernie has gained a wealth of experience over the past couple of years, working one to one with clients. She also regularly facilitates large workshops organised by charity organisations or herself. It’s her practical approach that undeniably makes her unique in dealing with clients of all ages and walks of life. She is extremely down to earth and has such experience of good times and bad times through her previous role in health care and indeed on a personal level. People are automatically drawn to her and are totally comfortable opening up, within her company. She exudes positive energy that could be considered contagious and her passion for life is exhilarating.

Bernie is a firm believer that we all have the power within us to be what ever we want to be. We just have to believe in our selves and then anything and everything becomes a possibility.

Bernie is 38yrs old, married to Damian and together they have two children aged 7 and 4.

Being a busy mum, wife and style coach tm Bernie is acutely aware of the pressures of today’s society. Maintaining the work life balance can be a challenge, Bernie helps you achieve this with ease and a sense of style that makes you feel good and look great every day!

Bernie had the good fortune of meeting her colleague and co-worker Grainne Smith through the Style coaching tm institute, when both were completing their diplomas. They struck up an instant friendship. Together they have set up ‘xmakeover.ie’ and now travel around Ireland transforming people’s lives through the art of Style coaching tm. They have an extensive port-folio, as they feature regularly in newspapers around the country. Both also feature regularly on local radio stations in all of the counties they have visited with xmakeover .ie. They will both make their television debut on the 12th of Sept when RTE will transmit a recording of one of their makeover shows on the ‘Nationwide’ programme, from the Bridge house Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
